FindShot Privacy Policy

Overview

This policy explains how this app handles information on your device. The app is designed around local processing and does not operate a separate user account system.

FindShot stores imported copies locally and uses on-device OCR. Recognition and organization do not require sending screenshots to servers operated by the developer.

Permissions Used

Photo library access: used to import screenshots and optionally delete originals after creating local copies.

Voice notes request microphone and speech recognition access when you use them and use on-device recognition. App lock uses system authentication without accessing your face, fingerprint, or device passcode.

Data Handling

Screenshots, OCR text details, tags, and classification rules are stored on-device. The app does not require uploading this content to servers operated by the developer.

If you enable system search, only screenshot titles and tags are added to the device’s Spotlight index, not images or full OCR text. Turning it off clears that index. You initiate backups and exports and choose where the files are saved.

Important Notes

Text recognition can make mistakes; check important information.

Removing originals from Photos and deleting local FindShot copies are separate actions. Photo deletion follows the system’s Recently Deleted behavior and may sync to other devices when iCloud Photos is used.

Third-Party Services

Purchases and downloads are handled by Apple App Store. If you enable iCloud or system services, Apple may process data under Apple's own terms and privacy policy.

We do not sell personal data and do not use your content for advertising.
